The collaboration between AVENUE Models and JSP has been a colorful and exciting mesh from the start. Kayleigh Hendrassen: Hello Sascha, i must say it's a pleasure to be able to speak with you, from visiting your shop and getting to know your style and designs(and perhaps maybe a lil profile stalking), i feel like i know you already. lol.

Sascha Frangilli: Lol, well that is a surprise as I only admit on my profile to the fact that I fart, drink and swear in RL.... ;-)

KH: Let me start off by asking where your inspiration, and obvious love, in regards to the design of your dresses, gowns and evening wear stems from?

SF: inspiration is just a word, I search high and low on the internet for textures that I can use, adjust and modify in all possible ways to create a dream gown.
I guess there is in most women, a little barbie hidden and this way I can let her out here on SL.

KH: Your gowns are stylish, elegant and detailed, yet somewhat simple at the same time. Do you purposely focus your talents in specific areas when you design, in order to keep your quality up and your prices down?

SF: No, not at all. I simply do not like overelaborate designs. I am like that in RL as well. Stylish but not too elaborate. You can create class by less and not always by more. And the prices just have to do with the fact that I am aware that these are pixel dresses and I just do not want to ask too much money for it (and yes, with the financial crisis going on, it is nice to have cheaper but quality dresses).

KH: I get the feeling that you're a super fun, yet no BS type of personality, and I myself think fashion should in fact be fun! Do you think some people in SL take fashion, or perhaps themselves, a little too seriously?

SF: OH fuck do I ever! This is for godsake a pixel universe. I am so aware of the fact that I sit behind the pc in RL in my pj and bathrobe at night, that I sometimes cannot take all this fashion crap too serious. One of the reasons I put up a bit hidden, some pictures of me in RL - just to show the real person behind the avatar.

KH: So what's in the future for Sascha's Designs?

SF: Continueing the way I am. I like what I do, I hate pressure to create stuff all the time. As I repeatedly say, this is for fun. I never imagined that having a store like this in SL, could be sometimes so mindboggling busy. People are pulling and tugging at you from all sides.

There's a lil Nympholism in us All

Nympholism is a wonderful little shop showcasing original designs mainly by it's owner, Michella Ellis. Kayleigh Hendrassen: Greetings Michella, thank you for speaking with me, how has SL been treating you? =)

Michella Ellis: Sl has been treating me well.

KH: What got you involved in the fashion world of SL? Do you design from personal tastes, or is there someone/thing that inspires you?

ME: I started doing fashion in 2004 with a sister of mine,(who no longer plays) Gbaby Xevious. She got me into fashion when male clothing was fairly limited. I started out as a builder but, she got me into fashion.

KH: Your use of bright, vibrant colours is apparent in a lot of your designs, is this your way of welcoming spring, or do you try to incorporate colour in all your items year round?

ME: I try to incorporate colors all year around, basically I am not your normal beige or grays person, the use of color is eye catching all year round and i believe it should be available for people always.

KH: You seem very family oriented in SL, do design along side other SL family members? Is this(being family oriented) a characteristic you have carried over from RL?

ME: Yes my SL daughter Mentalkaos Akina is a fashionista diva, she sometimes gives me great ideas, my sisters Niecy Devin and Jaynessa Jackson also do the same, My husband Renji Land also gives me his input on what seems hot and what might not be. I am also very family oriented in RL, I come from big families and we have always been close.

KH: I understand you have some affiliations with the club scene in SL. Music and fashion seem to go hand in hand in RL, do you find that's also true in SL as well? Can you tell me more about your club?

ME: Music and fashion will forever go hand in hand. My reason for a club is based on that is the first thing i did do in SL. I opened the original Boom Boom Room in 2004 and just always wanted to have a place for it. In case family and friends need a place to party, hangout and relax together.

KH: You seem to be quite a busy girl, what are some of the best ways your customers can keep up to date on your designs and other projects?

ME: It is really easy to keep up to date with me, people can join my group Nympholism, it is free. Send me a note card direct, or feel free to instant message me. I usually get them when I am online. Best way would be to join the group, though.

Sinergy your heart Out

Sandryne Paster: That goes without saying. *smiles*

KH: Before giving people more information about your shop, Sinergy, may i first ask how you got into SL fashion design? What was the appeal?

SP: It started simple, first with clothes(lingerie), after that i tried with casual fashion and then i wanted more and experimented with skins during lots of Photoshop Tutorials, and of course, i used a Base to start with and edited it to my likings several times. My appeal.. hmm, thats a good question, i just like to be creative i used PS and Poser before i got into SL making 3D art Work Fan Fiction of Star Wars.

KH: Sinergy focuses on the female form, the styles are simple, pretty, yet sexy. Are these qualities you enjoy only in sl, or have you brought some rl tastes into your designs?

SP: I guess some of both.

KH: I understand you're also a dancer, has this had an influence on your designs at all? You must get a lot of suggestions and ideas from fellow dancers. lol.

SP: In the beginning yes, i wanted to have more lingerie to dance, so i made my own but then i wanted to expand and learn more about making clothes. And well, i don't talk much about my business with my co-dancers, hehe, sure, i send them examples of my designs or help new dancers with skin or clothes.

KH: So what's in the future for Sinergy? Do you think we will ever see any outerwear fashion or perhaps Sinergy accessories down the road?

SP: I've planned to remove all my current clothes and make totally new ones(cuz my shadow/highlighting and wrinkles skill has improved). Hard to tell about the outerwear and accessories Question, that depends on the success of my business here and if my skill improves with prims, lol, they're really freaking me out. :D

KH: What's the best way for Sinergy clients to keep up to date on your designs and any future releases?

SP: For Groups its best to be in Fashion Consolidated, i don't have my own yet, not sure if anyone would join. :) I do have my own blog SinergyNewNess(http://sinergynewness.wordpress.com), plus, i blog on IHeartSL (www.iheartsl.com) which will be seen on the Fashion World of SL(http://fashionplanet.worldofsl.com) blogfeed as well.

Upon first arrival at Alisa Wycliffe's Wicked Fashion shop I am immediately reminded of my home town of Toronto. Shopping at Wicked Fashion feels very much like many of the great clothing stores located on the Queen St. strip, and if you've ever been shopping on Queen St. you will probably agree. There's just something different about shopping in the city and if you happen to be a city girl, like myself, you will also agree that Alisa has definitely captured that feeling.

I suppose you don't have to guess what sort of product you will find at Wicked Fashion, but if you're into casual, hip, and comfortable city wear then this is the place for you. Numerous styles of tops, tanks, skirts, denims, and multiple outfit combinations decorate the walls of Wicked Fashion. KH: Alisa, you've really captured that city feeling with Wicked Fashion, with your styles, and with the shop itself, what else have you tried to convey with Wicked Fashions in regards to city life and shopping in general.

AW: Well I am totally inspired by the look and feel of the boutique shops in the villages of NYC, with the exposed and/or painted brick and the beautiful hardwood floors. I really wanted to convey a realistic upscale shopping experience in my store that gives you that same warm and fuzzy feeling you get when you walk off the crowded city streets into those quaint little boutique shops. Of course, my main store is a bit bigger than most city shops but that's my fault, LOL, I'm just totally addicted to making clothes in SL and I keep expanding! :)

KH: You seem to have a love for cute, functional tops and clothes that can be worn in various mix 'n match combinations. Clearly this is another trait you've picked up being a city girl. Do you think the functionality and diversity with fashion carries over in SL?

AW: Oh I really think it does, and I offer a free pair of jeans with most of the top sets/packs to make sure everyone has that option. The black leather skirt is perfect with almost anything too, lol. I try hard to offer a good mix of designs that you would wear in RL, and some items that might be just a little too risqué for your RL taste.. anything goes in SL! :)

KH: I notice you pay close attention to detail, something very important with quality wear in SL, do you think you will try your hand at more sculpted items down the line? Your sculpted Hoodie is adorable by the way. =)

AW: LOL, thanks! I have new hoodie colors coming out soon, including a really cute pink version! But yes, I've already started including sculpted items in some of my designs, and I'm also working on designing sculpted shoes and boots too! Detail/realism in general is really really important to me, and designers like Redgrave offer me tons of inspiration. I have to admit I'm also a complete perfectionist and I'm known to spend waay too many hours in Photoshop working on a single piece just to get every little detail right. :)

KH: What is the best way for Wicked Fashion enthusiasts to keep on top of your upcoming collections and future designs.

AW: You'll get the most info about new designs, freebies, midnight mania updates, etc, by joining the "Wicked Fashion" group! In fact you'll get a group invite the first time you walk into the main store, or you can just search for it in groups (open enrolment). You can also track us down on the web at www.wickedsl.com! There are tons of great shops in SecondLife, lots of designers and lots of variety. So much variety in fact that it can be overwhelming for a newcomer, or even for someone who's just new to shopping in SL. When i first arrived at LaRosa even i was a bit overwhelmed. It's not just a shop, it's more like a shopping complex. What's fantastic about LaRosa is that it offers a great selection of pretty much everything at practically no cost at all. A great place for newcomers with little Linden to spare to start their wardrobe collection.

Right in the middle of their amazing Winter sale where the majority of their stock is an amazing $10L(wow!), other inventory is priced to sell at $30L, and $50L respectively so i will spare you the price tags in this report. lol. At such a low price for outfit combinations, LaRosa is the ideal place to mix and match outfits and create your own unique style. With adorable short pleated skirts like the Sex and the City outfits, or the Autumn skirt/sweater combinations, you'll be set for that transition into Summer(hey, just because there's no actual weather in SL doesn't meant you can't use your imagination). If skirts aren't your thing then LaRosa can satisfy your pant needs with styles like the Heaven denims that come with a slick collared shirt and shoes, or the Spring Basics long shorts with a light jacket and tall boots.

For the boys, there's a ton of pant/shirt combinations for you to play around with as well, Jeans with print, slacks and collared shirts in many styles. Larosa Kohime: It is a great honor for me. :)

KH: The first thing I noticed about your shop is the vast selection of styles LaRosa offers, can you tell me a little bit about the creative process behind the fashions?

LK: If I have an idea I create it immediately, and also I reflect the wishes of my customers.

KH: The majority of LaRosa's styles are simple, yet elegant and stylish, would you say this reflects your fashion in RL(real life)?

LK: Not really my RL style, but I see what my customers like and it's in this style that I continue to create.

KH: Everyone's always looking for a great deal in SL(second life), how are you able to offer people such amazing deals, and how important is it to you to keep your prices down?

LK: Our prices are an essential component of the brand LaRosa. We strive for quality and pricing of our customer satisfaction to bring them into compliance. For many user surveys, we know we are on the right track and will continue to pursue this policy and will not change.

KH: Fashion is a huge driving force behind SL's success, where do you see LaRosa, or more generally, SL fashion as a whole heading in the next few years?

LK: I think SL as a whole will continue to develop. I do not know what direction this development will take. This can be positive but also negative for the current SL-fashion. LaRosa, in any case, will advance with the evolution. Currently, we have a leadership role with our pricing and are proud that our example so many designers already follow. We will continue this policy and to further improve on the features that work.

KH: With such a large shop and vast selection, what is the best way for LaRosa customers to keep in touch with the latest product and sales?

Husky GFX not just for RP

Normally I would resist writing an article for a fashion blog about a shop that specialized in costume and RPG wear, but there is something very different about !!Husky GFX!!, and quality and style are very much a part of that.

Husky is so huge it's hard to even know where to begin. For the most part its sectioned off into men's and women's, then into different styles of clothing, or different RPG or period fashions. Luckily, and thanks to co-owner Thorsten Ducatillon, I was able to locate the super convenient teleporting system thats basically a miniaturized version of the entire sim, offered for all visitors.

With a simple click I immediately arrive at the women's products, the first outfit that catches my eye is the gorgeous Selene($799L), a 15 piece outfit which includes a leather jacket with skirt, 2 pant styles, shirt, corset, and numerous sculpted items for that added detail. I'm surrounded by literally hundred of amazing period and rp outfits, and as i walk over to the next area i spot the wonderful assortment of medieval style gowns like the beautiful Alatariel 'Galadriels Mirror Dress'($949L per colour), a silk/satin flowing flexi gown, shoulder shrow with sculpted scarf, cloak with sculpted golden leaf, sculpted hood and more!

Curious about the men's selections I make my way down the steps outside and locate another teleporting station. Once I arrive I'm greeted with much of the same high quality wear, many of the same styles too. Something quite different though, the Giron Assassin($949L per colour), is what i notice first, a very dark 15 piece outfit with sculpted shoulder shrow, primed gloves, shadowed hood, ninja mask and much more. As i walk around i can't help but notice the amazing Branan's Kilt outfit($699L), beautifully designed flexi kilt(2 styles), 2 belt options, sculpted sashes, biretta, and shirt collar. Great outfit for that super sexy Scottish boy. Then there's the weapons, accessories and shoes, necklaces, bracelets, leg circlets, hats, goggles, belts... and every boot and shoe or sword to go along with every outfit sold at Husky, and just as detailed as everything else offered. So remember, whether you're an RP'er or just like dressing up in beautiful clothing, you never need a reason to wear top quality fashion.

Kayleigh Hendrassen: Thanks for taking the time to chat with me Thorsten, I know we only met a short time ago, but i would like to think we hit it off fairly well. lol.

Thorsten Ducatillon: Hi, Kayleigh. There was no reason not to have a nice chat and to be honest, sometimes i enjoy taking a break with a nice chat.

KH: You and your wife are co-designers on all the great product here, what's it like working along side one another, and can you tell me a little about your overall design process?

TD: First, i think i have to explain the basics. Karigan and me are married in RL also and we are both graphic designers by profession. We are used to work as a team and share our creativity.
So the first steps in the new world called SL, we entered 1 1/2 years ago, was creating clothes and skins for our self. A lot of friends asked for our clothes and that was why we started with a 30 L$ shop. It expanded a bit since then.
Most important thing for our creations is to make them look as real as possible, so we are creating the textures in Photoshop and are adding some primed details to every clothing pack. (there are even belts with the limit of 255 prims)The textures are done by Karigan, i try to support her with primmed stuff and sculpties.

KH: I see you design mostly for the role players in SL, which I imagine are a lot, and your styles seem endless, where do you guys get your amazing inspirations from?

TD: We are kind of "outdoor people", so the clothes we are wearing in RL are mostly functional, as our clothes in SL are. We love fantasy and this reflects in our creations, but we always try to make them, as they would be in RL. You wont find any zips in our gorean or medieval pants and gowns. We imagine they used buttons and laces and we are going to design the clothing based on that. Most of our clients are Role players and we don't want them to run over a medieval Sim with clothing that doesn't fit that time, even in details. So we also check what clothings have been worn that time and try to make our clothes look similar.

KH: Your outfits are highly detailed, do you find your customers expect only the best? I hear role players can be very picky and specific about their clothing. lol

TD: *smiles* i think role players are the most critical customers, they know how their outfit should look like and for sure they don't want to look like a fashion model when they act as a warrior. So we try to make our clothes look like they would be.... stressed, burnt, with holes..... like clothes would look like if you wandered through the wilderness for one week. If you meet another role player on an RP sim, the first thing you do, is looking at him. So the clothing should tell you which character you meet. Its helpful to make role play more realistic, as it should be. All customers buying !!Husky GFX!! products are paying real money and they expect to get quality for that. We try to offer the best we can afford to fulfil the trust they set in us. (btw. there are many outfits in our inventory which will not be sold because we are not happy with them)

KH: This is a wonderful SIM Thorsten, I wish i had more time to explore it. Can you tell me a little bit about it that people may not know as well as your other location?

TD: We met at Chinook, the Sim where our main store is located. A store should reflect the products and so we decided to build up this new Sim. Also at the main store we added the details like candles, resting areas, a park etc. Our customers should enjoy the environment also. It should be more a journey in an other world than a shopping tour. Next to Chinook we added a medieval market where various merchants offer their products. We are proud to have some of the best creators on that market. We also have the Alaska Sim, where we created a natural northern environment which can be explored, including animals, a mountain to climb, a musher hut, gold diggers camp ..etc.
There is also a small city located where you can buy all !!Husky GFX!! products. So our customers are free to shop where they like... shopping should be a small adventure. *grins*

KH: You must have a lot of frequent customers Thorsten, what is the best way for them to stay up to date on !!Husky GFX!! products and information?

TD: Thats easy... first everybody is invited to join the !!Husky GFX!! group, where we are announcing all new products.(there is a Husky at the main entrance you have to click to enter the group). Avid: Calling all Vampires

Dark, Gothic, mysterious, romantic, beautiful... uhm, bloodthirsty? If any or all of these adjectives apply to you then Avid may be just the shop you're looking for. Also, they are the only words that can properly describe the wonderfully detailed designs that drape the walls of the just as dark and gothic shop. Although Avid offers many styles and varieties in both men's and women's clothing, skins, weapons, and accessories, it's the men's fashion wear that, to me, possess some of the most beautiful designs.

Period style outfits, full of layered detail from the 18th century to modern Gothic, there's an outfit here for all you mysteriously dark boys. Consumer favourites, like Loves Mutineer($790L), a gorgeous 18th century inspired ensemble with frilly cuffs and collar, tie, vest, leather jacket with skirt, sword and boots will have heads turning. Another favourite, from the same period, The Van Helsing($780L), also comes complete with top, vest, jacket with skirt, dagger and boots. For something a little more modern, styles like the Jaguar($800L) with it's sleek black goth look, and buckle detailing, complete with skirt, boots and belt are sure to satisfy.

If you're in a more futuristic mood, outfits like the Divine Assassin($690L), a tight fitting black suit, with pikes details, side cloak, and studded boots, or the Praedator($780L), with its fitted body armour, laced sleeves, leather jacket with skirt, heavy fur cloak and studded boots are ideal. Of course, I don't want to take anything away from the women's fashion, which is as equally fabulous. Some breathtaking outfits such as Salem($890L) which comes with everything you can imagine including pant, skirt(short/ripped/flexi options), bra/glove extensions, garters fishnets, fingernails, and even a tattoo! For those girls who like to keep it cute, but retain you're dark edge, the Descending Angel($820L) is perfect. A buttoned blazer with wrap around scarf, belt, stockings/socks, shoes and lace trimmed pleated flexi skirt, complete with beret and an evil teddy.

Although clothes are main seller, Avid carries other great products like weapons, skins(mostly vampire/goth related), and other accessories. If you make your way to the back of the shop you will see a gorgeous Purity's Ghost bridal gown($1,500L), which comes complete with lace underwear set, 2 pairs of platform boot, gloves, tattoo, lace flexi skirt and veil, ceremonial whip/dagger and is offered in both pure and bloodied versions. So if you're looking for that refined and classy goth style, make your way down to Avid and explore your inner vampire.

Cipher your life Away

Cipher is definitely, in my opinion, a shop for the young, hip avi's... but then again, aren't all our avi's young and hip? Once inside Cipher if you head down the stairs you're greeted with wall to wall very sexy mini skirts, and when i say mini, i mean micro mini(there's a reason all styles come with a **please wear panties** warning)! Offering both flexi and non-flexi, with accessories or without, the styles are fresh, colourful and fun. The Loli-Girl Suspender($90L per colour), is a layered flexi skirt with lace trim and hanging suspenders and comes in a great selection of vibrant colours and patterns. Close to that is the Loli-Girl Hip Hanger/High Waist($90L for either style), a personal favourite of mine with its front laced detail and beautiful underlying lace trim.

If you're looking for something a little more simple, the classic School Girl($90L per colour), in its various plaid colours, is never a disappointment. On the Northern wall you'll find Cipher's new arrivals, showcased was the 'Prayer' Shrugs Jacket ($200L), a layered top with a bustier worn under a high, laced collared midriff jacket. It comes with sculpted sleeves and collar with three available sizes. Directly above the new arrivals on the second floor is a wonderfully designed jacket for both men and women. The 'Busta' Riders Jacket($200L per colour), is a nicely open style jacket with all over buckle and strap detailing. Also on display is the 'Tomboy' Leather Jacket($150L per colour), an short, open style jacket for women, with long sleeves, popped collar and lots of great detail. Cipher also offers a ton of great items like Lingerie sets, stocking, and plenty of accessories such as funky top hats, detailed belts, jewellery and more!

Of course, i saved the best for last. Ciphers selection of boots is the reason I discovered this great shop and is certainly their speciality, designs like Rayline and Luna($150L per style/colour), are a fabulous bootie with lace or buckle detailing. If you like belt and buckle detail, which i absolutely do, then the Strangle boots($250L per style/colour) with there wrapping belts(all the way up to the knee as a matter of fact) will blow you away. My personal favourite, so much i had to buy two colours, are the 'Insanity' Punk Rock boots($250L per colour). If you like buckles, then this is your boot. High quality detailing and excellent design is sure to make this item a favourite of yours too. I could literally talk Cipher boots all day but, to save us both a lot of time, simply make your way down to the shop and treat yourself in person, you won't be disappointed.

Bijou: The Jewel of SL

Bijou, which is French for Jewel, is a gloriously large shop that's filled with beauty, elegance, and charm. Much like a beautiful jewel itself, and possibly the reason behind it's name. It's clear to see that Japanese owner Kotobuki Jewell(ah!), took a lot of care and effort to display her designs in an incredible aesthetically pleasing environment.

As I make my way to the new arrivals, as i usually do, the surroundings only serve to enhance the wonderful items on display. The first item that catches my eye is the extremely unique Vain suit($350L per colour - $1,050L for the pack), which can only be described as a thick tweed zip-up collared jacket with cinched waist an matching poofed shorts. Truly Japanese influenced. Beside the Vain, is the Hottie dress($310L per pattern - $620L for the pack), wildly patterned frilled mid-length(or short) dress with open buckled with optional pvc textured jacket. The next item I spot is the super sexy Gig($270L per colour - $945L for the pack), an ultra mini dress with draping details in the top and a gold disc wrap-around belt, which goes beautifully with its glittery texture.

As I make my way down the enormous stairwell, and under the huge white chandelier, to Bijou's main floor, and when i say huge, i mean huge. If SL had an echo, you'd hear one. The outfit combinations decorating Bijou's main floor are fun, wild, gorgeous and a little bit crazy, but all have that unique Bijou style. Plenty of wonderful layering in outfits like the Focus($260L per colour - $780L for the pack), a retro tight fitting stretch top with attached garters, short shorts, and colourful striped stockings. Or the Exceed($300L per colour - $1,050L for the pack), a doubled up spaghetti strap tank top with poofy pants that cinch at the calves. There is so much to see at Bijou you could literally get lost here. Jackets, furs, shorts, pants, dresses, bathing suits(one pieces too!), stockings, and even breathtakingly beautiful skins, everything created with a style so unique that every outfit at Bijou will make you feel like a precious jewel.

Stiletto Moody goes Bare

Agnes Finney: lol. Christmas is always some of the busiest time in SL. And I have been working on the new main store these days. It's a lot of hard work but fun. :-)

KH: As someone who has a formal coming up and two weddings, I feel like I've seen every gown shop in SL. My Precious is clearly in the forefront of quality. May I ask where you get your unique inspirations from?

AF: I get inspired from what I see around me. Dresses and jewels are my favourite. I do lot of research from RL magazines for ideas as well. I believe that popular outfits have to be wearable like rl fashion but more creative in the way SL offers.

KH: Did you study fashion or also design in RL? If so, was that what lead you to design in SL? And if not, do you ever plan to?

AF: Nope. but I have been fond of fashion since I was small. I draw sketches of clothing that I dream of wearing for pleasure. I was very excited when I knew that I can create any fashion items that I like in SL. That is why I started designing here. But well, yes it would be great if my rl schedule allows me to study more about fashion. I'm sure that helps me with designing skills.

KH: Fashion is clearly a huge part of SL, from a designers perspective, have you seen a lot of changes in your time here, in regards to style, quality and demand from consumers?

AF: SL fashion has its trend too, as I see. Having been here for two years, I could see people's expectation on a fashion item is rising. Dresses in cup cake style is still a main trend as you can see in the ballrooms. But I'm also glad to see that people are more willing to try creative designs. More revealing, shape-fitted dresses like mermaid skirts, long train skirts are a bit hit this year. This can be a challenge to designers here because more creative use of prims on the dresses are required to make such styles.

KH: What direction do you see My Precious and Agnes Finney designs taking in the future?

AF: Well, I hope to surprise ladies with more varieties of clothing in my store such as Victorian, period clothing. And since I am getting more interested in incorporating sculpties into my designs to give a more realistic look. So, I think that is what you might expect to see in My Precious.

KH: What's the best way for your present and future customers to keep in touch with My Precious' products and information?

AF: Become a member of my group is the best. You'll get to know about new releases and different benefits exclusive to my members. We are planning to have more contest, events and such this year too.

Bland is Beautiful

Perhaps Bland isn't the greatest name for a clothing line, and to be completely honest bland was exactly what i was thinking upon first arrival, but after a brief walk through the shop I realized that that wasn't the case at all.

After rezzing you're greeted with several racks of various dresses and skirt combinations, their designs seem simple, yet there is a quality about them that seems to flow through each and every product at Bland. One of the first to catch my eye was the green polka-dotted Organic Dress($200L), with adorable short sleeved top and matching a-line skirt. Next was the just as simple, yet beautifully sleek Lucille Dress($200L), with short sleeved button up blouse and smart below the knee skirt that, I can only guess, was inspired by Lucille Ball. The Fuzzy Dress($200L), a strapless top/corset with attachable skirt that is as cute as can be.

Speaking of Bee's(pardon the pun), the Bee Dress($200L) is as simple as they get, a wonderful bright yellow number with sharp black lined trim. The rest of the dresses, all unique in their own right, had me anxious to wander through the rest of the shop. Cute blouses, like the Stripy and Polka dot Shirts(&150L) are colourful and fun, and the Stripy Skirts($150L) with huge button detail are definitely different. In the back are more racks with fitted pants and capris($100L each), and really cute tops like the Asian inspired midriff Orient Top($100L per colour), and the super exposed Bramble Waistcoat($100L) with double breasted button detail.

Bland also offers complete outfits with wonderful patterns and colours like the 'Good Morning Rainbow' sets including Tropical($150L), which comes with three shirt option and sculpted pants, 3 Nin Matsuri($100L), a super vibrant top/skirt set or other slightly different outfits like the Fancy Taxi Dress outfit($150L). bloody or clean, which include boots and a hat. Accessories, like Hats, Shoes, Glasses are also available at Bland and are all as equally unique. The quality may not be up to par with some of the higher end shops, but the prices and fun factor are definitely on Bland's side - the Subtle Dress 'for classy ladies' had me giggling every time I walked by it - so if you're looking for something colourful that puts a smile on your face, then Bland may be right for you.

A Bare Rose for Everyone

Bare Rose could be compared to an enormous costume shop, but perhaps that's not being fair because the selections here stretch beyond mere costumes. The thing i love most about Bare Rose is that what you see is what you get, and what you'll see are amazing quality outfits filled with detail and layers. What you'll also see are the ridiculously amazing prices. In fact, I don't believe any of the outfits here are priced over $200L, most hovering around $150L, and these are outfits that could easily be priced triple that. For instance the Mist(and one my personal favourites), is a super sexy 18th century styled jacket/skirt combination with garters that retails for a mere $130L. Or the adorable Tradurian($145L), a plaid button up jacket with open collar and short flexi skirt, also with garters. The mens selections are just as vast, like the Samurai of Darkness($140L), a complete body plated outfit with cape. One word that can describe Gritty Kitty is fun. Although, that wouldn't be fair considering it's so much more than that, Gritty's product is fun, funky, trendy, cool, hip, and sometimes hilarious(Astro Space Pewm Pewm Zapper anyone?? [$200L]). There's so much to see at Gritty Kitty with a wide selection of accessories like Glasses(Browline, Velma, etc for $150), Bags (Mark up, Tote, etc $200 - 300L), Belts ($100L), Jewellery (too much to mention), and many many more. The clothing at Gritty is just as cool, Tops, Jackets, Pants for both men and women come in various patterns and prints. When i first met Demetra Pastorelli we actually never spoke, to be honest, it was her beautiful jacket that first caught my eye. lol. It wasn't until i tracked the jackets origin that i first spoke with the equally beautiful Demetra... and when i also found out that she had a big part in it's design.

Finding Wild & Demetra was like discovering a little secret that nobody else knew about, the shop is quaint, but the product is larger than life, and my jacket that i ever so cunningly tracked down? A beautiful sleek, open breasted, trench style coat with flowing tails perfectly name Underworld for a phenomenal $100L. The amazing deals don't end there, the gorgeous Lilith skirt with lace can be worn in three different styles and also sells for $100L. And the Blood Noir latex booty shorts and buckled top for $70L almost stopped my heart. Tops, jeans, dresses, as well as great fashions for men like the I Walk Alone button up shirt($45L), or the mens version of The Underworld Coat($100L).

Kayleigh Hendrassen: Hi Demetra, thank you so much for speaking with me today about your wondering product.

Demetra Pastorelli: Hi Kayleigh! It's a pleasure to be here with you .

KH: First off, can you tell me your inspiration behind the designs, who are some of your favourite designers, in RL or SL?

DP: I am Italian and here in Italy there are many great stylists, I do not have a favourite stylist, I love them all. But I can say that the brands in SL I love are Gothicatz, Lapointe, House of Rfyre, IndyraOriginas ... (I could be here to list other for hours ^ ^).
Anyway I am not inspired to any of these in particular for my clothes, I love the style dark-goth as the elegant, the casual, the neko, and I try to put them together, always trying to give everything to a simple but unique line, so that clothes can please everyone and not just an elite group.

KH: You and Wild are not only working partners, but RL and SL partners, would you say has that helped your working relationship and the overall design of your product?

DP: Definitely yes. Working together in SL has united us very well in RL and I can say that I would not have thought that we would be able to combine love and work so well. Having the advantage of living together in RL, we have the opportunity to give us advice each other more easily and thus combine our ideas to create truly unique products.

KH: The one thing that stood out for me was your price tags, is there a special reason you and Wild can offer such great product at such amazing prices?

DP: All of us, just landed on SL, we were "newbie", and all we have always had difficulty finding beautiful clothes because most of the clothes are too expensive.
For this reason, since we opened our store, we have decided to remain at very low prices because they are accessible to all.

KH: What is the best way for your customers to stay up to date on your products and new releases?

Aoharu's Sim is a big place so if you're going to check it out make sure you have some time to devote to it. Upon arrival there are two boutiques on either side, both offering fashions for men and women. Aoharu appears to specialize in outerwear, and the product seems endless. Their jackets are adorable and chic, like the Short Trench coats($320L per colour & style) or the adorable animal print Furs($280L per pattern), and with a styling pair of stockings(which Aoharu's also offers at $150-180L per pack), can practically be worn as outfits on their own. The coats for men are equally as trendy like the super slick Snake Trench($380L per colour), or if you're looking for that trendy new suit their all white Frock Coat set($700L) will definitely turn some heads... but don't worry, it also comes in the more common, yet equally as slick, black and grey colours. Specializing in fashions from the 1930's to the 1950's, Bettie's selection of clothing is not only fun and exciting, but also quite stylish. Armidi Gisaci is what upscale fashion is all about. As soon as you enter the main store you know you're looking at quality designs, but don't let all that scare you, the prices at Armidi aren't as bad as you'd think, especially for the product. On the main floor the men's side displays beautiful button-up shirts($250L), vests($125L), shirt & vest combinations($295L) as well as full suits($525L without tie) all designs coming in various colours. Unfortunately the men's selections pretty much stops there, but the women's product is much more broad. Detour is a great shop that carries products enriched in quality and style. Offering both mens and women's items Detour's selection of casual and elegant footwear is extensive. From their Jaywalker Sneaker($350L per colour) to their Glamour Metallic Pumps($350L per colour), or their classy Mistress Boot($400L per colour) to the cute little Layback Flipflop($350L per colour), there's a style of shoe here for everyone. Nex-Core Fashion Show

If you weren't in attendance at the NEX-Core Fashion show at Vanity Universe, don't feel too bad, you can still access all wonderful designs showcased at the event. With amazing new creations from Victoria V, Aoharu, (Nova), Clio-pret a porter, Shai and BiancaF there was something there to please everyone's tastes.

Starting off the show was designer VictoriaV McMillan, along with SL, as well as RL, partner Vasgez McMillan, they've work hand-in-hand to bring their company slogan to SLife. VictoriaV has numerous shops around SLife, specializing in elegant gowns, bridal, and formal wear, their designs are flawless and beautiful. Next on the catwalk, Machang Pichot owner of Aoharu, with her latest outerwear fashions, just in time for fall of course. Japanese inspired printed furs, stylized trenches, all slick designed coats and jackets for every boy and girl. Next to hit the runway was (Nova) and their Enchanted Collection, beautifully designed gowns with soft, silky fabrics and amazing flowing movements. There are tons of colours too choose from and the prices are exceptional. Dresses for the girl who wants to feel, and look, like a princess. Following (Nova) was Clio -pret a porter- , formerly 'CCard's... designs by Clio Cardiff', Clio creates clothes for herself and for those who like her style and simple lines. Without the use of RLife photographs, Clio produces all her own designs by digital drawing. Her gowns are pretty and unique with all lace work and shadings hand drawn Clio's inspiration comes from the world around her.

Casa del Shai, located in the Casa del Shai sim is owned my Shai Delacroix and with 5 buildings, you can find outfits for any occasion always with perfect texturing and amazing style. Designing both formal and casual wear for men and women, Shai showcased her beautiful evening gown collection and was received well by the crowd. Last but not least was Bianca Foulon’s latest collection. Bianca F’s design sensibility is, above all, fashion forward. Combined with the trendy, straight-off-the-catwalk look of Bianca F’s line is a liberal dose of sensuality. The fabrics run from sheer to glittery to shiny patent to sequined, in a variety of textures and colours (forget basic black, Bianca does colour in saturated, brilliant tones). In my opinion the show was a great success with SLife fashion having a very bright year ahead of itself and i think we're all in for a treat. All skins were provide by Free Speerit and their beautiful new skin line which was actually released that very night.

Say Hello to the Sweetest Good-bye

Offering products for both male and female, Sweetest Good-bye is the perfect store for people who love very stylish, everyday fashion. Redgraves is the place you want to go if you like really high quality product at very reasonable prices. Specializing in look-a-like skin Redgraves offers amazing quality and ultra exotic skins resembling todays hottest celebrities. Look-a-likes? It may sound tacky, but that actually couldn't be further from the truth. Minus the famous blueprints, the skins themselves stand alone as a superb product and most, if not all, come in either pale and tanned shades. Skin 'styles' both male and female, a single make-up(or facial hair) skin will run you $990L, and the bundle is a fantastic deal at $2,990L. Unfortunately, they only carry 4 male skins, but there are countless female characters too choose from... and my god, those lips! Kalnins - Style for the Eyes

Located in the luxurious Life Is Beautiful shopping centre, Kalnins Fashion Sunglasses are just what you've been looking for - if you're looking for great eye wear that is. With styles too numerous to mention there is definitely something here that will suit even the most picky of shoppers(like me?). Starting at $275L and going as high as $500L per pair Kalnins' most impressive feature are the one click menu options. Adjust the reflection, the tint, set the glasses on your head, even activate the face light or auto-smiler with a simple click of your mouse. The one area I feel Kalnins falls short on is the 3 dimensional look. Up close the glasses look very 2-D, almost flat actually and there's no depth to back up the detail. Which is a huge shame because the styles themselves are unique and beautiful. From a normal distance though they look amazing and this writer believes the styles and options alone are worth the purchase.

FNKY and Cake tastes so Sweet

I can't help but be biased when writing about FNKY & Cake as it's one of my absolute favourite shops in SecondLife. I mean, what's not to love about designs that are ultra high quality and just as equally stylish? Separated, FNKY offers more men's skins($1,850L - $3,000L for pack) and various fashions like apparel, shoes, hats, watches and more, but also carries several items like women's pumps($400L - $1,200L for pack), and unisex glasses($300-400L - $1,000 + for packs), all top quality. Cake is more female oriented with skins and shapes( avg $1,250L - $3,000L for pack), numerous fashion apparel, and glasses. Cake's speciality is hair, offering both men's and womens styles it is some of the highest quality SL has to offer. Their newest styles(and favourites of mine) run for $375L per colour and $3,000 for the packs. The hair is beautiful and very natural looking and you're bound to pull in a compliment or two... I know I've referred at least a handful of people since purchasing my first style not so long ago.

Not your average Dog Hair

Arriving at Analog Dog is like nothing you've seen in any RL store, set on a beach in the middle of the water the displays hover high above your head in large translucent discs. And don't let the name fool you, this is far from 'dog hair,' lol. In fact, the hair created by Analog Dog is some of the finest quality I've seen. It moves very well and flows naturally when you perform even the slightest of motions. The hair comes in three textures, straight, wavy and curly(really curly), and there are many styles in each texture. The price is amazing at $350L per style and you get 5 sets of shades which is truly a great deal. They also offer free bangs suitable for many of the styles they sell, in case you want that extra something plus a hair colouring HUD($100L) to fine tune that perfect look. Shine Jewellery

Taking the elevator up to Shine Jewellery is an experience in itself(why are elevators so slow and rickety in SL?), but upon arrival you're greeted by a delightfully quaint little shop. There's not a whole lot to look at, but it's jewellery so who cares! The store consists of original designs created by Shine Igaly that are unique to SL. Butterflies, Dragonflies, flowers, as well as some more simplistic designs Shine offers detailed pieces of jewellery that hold creative and cute, mixed in with some elegant qualities. The prices vary and average about $200L for the smaller bits like rings and earrings, while the larger pieces go for around $400-$500L. Complete sets of bracelets, necklaces, and earring can run as high as $1500L. Their newest release, The Ice Maiden set is a steal at $650L for the set, which includes 9 pieces of jewellery including a belt! For the thrifty gal, some items can also be purchased separately.

Walking into GothiCatz you would think you were walking into a Tim Burton film, black, grey & mauve are the prominent colours but then again, what else would you expect from Goth? But don't think this is your everyday goth store with depressing models wearing equally depressing fashion, the outfits at GothiCatz are not only colourful & unique, they manage to also keep true to the Goth tradition. The main floor is enormous(a little too enormous maybe?) & most of the outfits hang on the walls - get your wings on because you'll need them - trust me it's worth the flight. But First you'll be presented with the floor displays, the latest in GothiCatz fashion & if you can resist buying those super sexy leather, side-laced pants(Blackout - $420L for outfit), or the numerous pleated mini-skirt ensembles($300-$550L for outfits), or the sheer baby doll dress(FallenAngel - $395L)... my god, i could write 15 articles on the baby doll dress alone!... then you may have a chance to see the wall displays. Plaids, denims, laces, leathers - there's something here for every girl & boy. The prices are fair & you get what you pay for at GothiCatz, high quality & very detailed products, & quality-wise, what you see is what you get, no disappointments.

Hair-raising prices at A and K

A&K offers customers average quality hair at above average prices. For $298L per colour and $1698L per pack they aren't exactly giving it away. The hair style is cute, don't get me wrong, but the fact that you can get ultra high quality hair for around $375L, tells me they probably won't have customers tearing down their doors. But the folks at A&K are smart - they've specialized in up dos and when you're dealing with hair that only half moves and up do is the way to go... and they have some super cute styles to choose from. A&K is definitely worth a look, with other products like beautiful silk and satin dresses($200-$400L), belts, boa, skins and more I'm sure there's something here every woman would want. On a more sensitive note, they've released a really cute hair/hat combo called 'Sabrina'($298L) in honour of breast cancer month. I'm not sure if any of the proceeds actually go to fight breast cancer, but it would make sense.

If you want beautiful, realistic skins for both men and women there's only one place that I can honestly recommend(and mind you, this is coming from a girl who's very picky), that's Xtreme Reality(XR) in Mystical Island. Since joining SL not so long ago I've been on a manhunt(or is it skin hunt?) for the perfect skin and was relieved to discover the beautiful selections provided by XR. 'Adrianna,' one of their newest products(and my new fav) is available in two gorgeous skin tones and like most of their products can be purchased in a single make-up ensemble or as a bundle pack which includes all 9 make-up shades. I'm not gonna lie to you, the price tag can(and probably will) run into the thousands - for example, Adrianna's full bundle pack for either the Fair or Tan skin tone will run you $7995L but for any one specific shade of make-up it's a steal at $1495L. The other products vary in prices for different options but all hover around the same figure give or take a few hundred linden. The men's skins are priced much lower but offer the same amazing quality along with your choice of facial hair! Mystical Demina: Hi, thank you for asking me.

KH: First off, and in layman's terms(lol), how are Xtreme Reality skins developed?

MD: Well, can't get all the details but can say it took me 6 months to come up with my workflow and techniques. I use techniques that are used in TV animation and video game development that is a mixture of 3D graphic tools and 2D graphic tools. The main thing that I have done is not base the skins on a single mono tone base layer like most skins do. Instead I have a multi-layered approach that I believe gives are more realistic skin texture.

KH: How long have you been developing skins?

MD: It has been over a year now.

KH: Why do you think your product is more unique than other skins on the market?

MD: I believe the luminosity of the skin gives it a unique look that has a more real feeling, and the approach I have to coloration of the skin has a more real feeling than using monotone base colors like many skins do.

KH: How can the general public stay up to date on your product information?

Callista Fashions definitely designs for the everyday girl, or at least, the everyday girl's everyday girl avatar. Pants, jeans, shorts, skirts and every style of top you can possibly imagine. And don't worry boys, Callista even has a couple items for you, although she seems to tuck them away down at the north end of the store. Apart from the hidden items the store itself it set up very well, which makes browsing it a dream. All items are at eye level with some boxes of boots and things on a platform for all to see. If you're a regular shopper of Callista's you'll appreciate upon entrance being greeted by large pictures of their latest designs, which most recently include casual Disco, Sport and Denim outfits that are absolutely adorable and reasonably priced between $400L to $500L.
